PrintNinja uses 105 pound uncoated stock for all of our endsheets. The manufacturing process for the inside pages requires that your inside page count be divisible by four. Note that we also offer partial dust jacket runs for customers that want to make special editions of their book. If you selected a split binding run you can choose the same number of dust jackets; you can also order a run of dust jackets that’s smaller than the normal run even if all of the binding is the same. If you want multiple types of dust jackets (“variant dust jackets”), you’ll need to contact us for a custom quote.

Lamination Style Thumb Cuts

There is a great deal of disparity in the printing industry in what constitutes a "proof". This is because the style of printing will greatly impact the cost and style of proof offered. Please note: We do not make complete single paper copies of your document for proofreading. It's expected for you to have proofread your project for spelling errors etc, before sending us your files.

An "electronic proof" is a full .pdf of your complete document. We'll run your files through our pre-flight software to check for things like resolution and color formats. The proof will include a series of notes about any formatting or technical issues that might need to be adjusted before we can proceed into production.
This proof will be your final opportunity to make any changes before production unless you purchase a hardcopy proof (see below). Anything that is within the crop marks of your proof document will appear on your printed goods. Here's a checklist of things that you can do to make the most of your electronic proof. Electronic proofs are included in the cost, and there is no limit to the number of proofs necessary to get your files "press-ready".

If you have concerns about how your colors will look when printed using the offset process, we recommend adding a hardcopy proof sheet to your order. A “hardcopy proof sheet” is a quality control document that we have printed in China. We make a single printing plate from the pages in your project that you select to fit on the sheet. We take two to four hours to set up the offset printing press just to make that sheet.
The colors that you see when you get the press sheet are the colors that you will get when you see your finished product - because the plate comes off the very same press where your finished work will be produced. Hardcopy proof sheets add two (2) weeks to your turnaround time (3 weeks for board books).
Proof Sheets will only include interior pages since covers and interiors are printed on different stocks. You can include your covers in addition to the interior proof sheet for an additional $150 fee. Any specialty options you'd like to include in your proof will also incur an extra charge.
